This is a simple park and grab.
When I was a kid, the gas station had a few things you could count on as a motorist. 1. Gasoline, which the attendant would pump for you, and then he would clean your windshield. 2. Free air (for your tires). 3. Free water (for your radiator). Then there were a few things you took your chances on: 1) a clean restroom, or more likely a not very clean restroom, and often you'd have to ask for the key which came on a chain so big you wouldn't forget to give it back. 2) refreshments. There might be a soda machine,and/or a candy machine. Usually there wasn't much else that was edible. For that, you'd go to a grocery store or a restaurant.
While there are still some gas stations like this, and they still pump your gas for you in New Jersey, now we have places where you buy gas that are so nice you can't call them gas stations! They are restaurants, cafes, and bakeries! Some call themselves farms and specialize in dairy products! They have restrooms that are cleaned hourly! They are general stores with almost anything you might need for a week, including clothing! And they sell gas, too.
Yes, the modern gas station is a lot better in almost every way, but possibly not in a few. Now the gas is entirely self service, as is the windshield washing. And while noone seems to need to add water to their radiators anymore, there is one thing I have noticed. There is no free air. You can have your tire pressure calibrated and modified, but it'll cost ya.
