Off the Beaten Path Traditional Geocache

This cache is a must for those geocachers who want to explore a part of Petit Jean that most visitors never see! Located near the Blue Hole, the cache area may be accessed by at least two different routes that do not require any bushwhacking. Archived in August 2003 because it did not have a state park permit, this cache has now been resurrected. The cache has also been relocated by about 200 feet from its old location, to comply with the directions of the Park Superintendent.

Please note that the park trails close at dusk, in accordance with state park regulations. Do NOT start your search if you cannot be off the trail by nightfall and do NOT search at night.

NOTE: On 3/7/09, the cache was placed in a new hiding spot and the coordinates updated to reflect the new location. The old location was compromised by ice storm damage and the old cache is either buried or has been muggled!

The cache is a 30-cal ammo box, containing a logbook, pen, and lots of trade items. The cache also contains partial coordinates for the Cedar Creek Cache (GCHQB4). The rest of the coordinates are in another cache, the Cedar Falls Cache (GCHQAZ). Since you’re already down in the canyon, you might as well go after these other two caches!

When you find this cache please take note how it is hidden and replace it back as you found it so those following you may experience the same challenge. When logging your find on the website, the more you write in the cache log, the more the owner is repaid for his efforts to place the cache.
