The Old Stage Road Bridge was first approved for construction over the Taylor River in 1824, and completed in 1825. The bridge was rebuilt and repaired several times over the past hundred years, before being officically closed for traffic in 1997 and finally rebuilt as a covered walkway and reopened in 2010.
