Geocache Description:

Another case of Hercule Poirot.

Posted coordinates are near the main library of Ramat Gan.

The puzzle:

Hercule Poirot, the world famous detective, and his loyal secretary Miss Lemon, were sitting for a brunch at the library cafeteria.

It was almost noon when an elderly woman came out from the library room and as she passed by them she recognized him.

OH MY GOD it is you! she cried out. Hercule Poirot, the famous French detective!

Belgian, Mademoiselle, not French. Corrected her Poirot.

Yes, of course, i am terribly sorry for the mix-up, my mind was elsewhere. I have read all your books! The first ones were published i think in the 1920s?

i really have no idea what books you refer to?

Poirot looked really puzzled at her remark, but gathered himself and asked:

What is the matter, my dear.. Paula.. Poirot read her name tag. You seem troubled.

Yes, you see, when i opened the door of the library this morning i noticed it was not locked. And after a quick search i realized some books were stolen from one shelf.

And that's when you found the body? guessed Poirot.

No, no body. Just the books.

I see. That is disappointing, said Poirot with a gloomy face.

How many books? Inquired Miss Lemon

Six of them i believe. All by the same author. they were stolen last night. I am sure of it! I called the police, but they were not taking me seriously. No break-in. Few books. They said if i want, i can come to the station and file a complaint.

Ok calm down, i assure you, Poirot is on the case!

Thank you, Mister Poirot, you are very kind. The robber, it seems, dropped a note, which maybe was the instructions.

Paula the librarian handed them the note.

Poirot read it out loud:

"Haloween party elephants can remember pigeons

Sad evil little pigs

hide using third out of four digits"

He was lost in thought for a couple of minutes, then finished his cup and declared:

Of course! How could i be so stupid?! That's why it all looked familiar!

Although i am afraid books are long gone, maybe we will find a magnet and a log at best. This is how it is around here. Tough neighborhood. Come on, Miss Lemon, we are going book hunting..
