Worldwide Sphinx Sculpture Hunt!
This is a virtual, log anywhere cache.
Locate a sculpture, building, or anything that resembles the famous Egyptian and Sumarian guardian. If you live in a big city, you might find one (or more) in front of a downtown library or historical building. The sphinx below (the "Home" Cache -- N39 48.686, W086 9.481) is located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.
The sphinx must be 3-dimensional object that is a "true" scuplture.
In other words, larger than something that could be held in your hand. Exceptions will be made for sphinx-like objects with true historical value. Statues of lions don't count - a sphinx has the body of a lion but the head of a man. A sphinx may also have wings...
Have someone take a picture of you, along with your GPS, by the sphinx; this will be your proof of visit.

Log your visit of a sphinx and include a picture of you, the sphinx, and your GPS (all in the same picture). Be sure to upload your picture within 48 hours of posting your find.
Log the coordinates, city and state and/or national location of the sphinx.
We encourage you to log any history or details about the sphinx that you are aware of.
You may only log this cache once and a particular sphinx can only be logged by the first finder.
Please make sure your find has not already been found by checking the cache log entries for recent finds.
