Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates are bogus - don't go there unless you want to get wet!

I have really enjoyed JWCOREY's Eureka puzzles, and wanted to try my hand at writing one myself. Each of the sentences below contains a hidden element; these elements share a theme. Once you've identified the theme and the hidden elements, you can determine which ones are missing. Write these missing elements in their natural order, and assign them A, B, C... in that order. The number of letters of each element is the value for A, B, C... For example, if the second word in your list is "autumn", you would use B=6. These values will help you calculate the coordinates of the cache's true location.

  1. Though Leonard claims he remembers the entire evening, he never could explain how his keys ended up at the bottom of the pool.
  2. After all the time and effort we put into solving the puzzle, making the actual find at the GZ was a bit anticlimactic.
  3. The victim’s family was stunned that the jury couldn’t agree whether to convict or acquit the driver, given his history of OUIs.
  4. The tree was over three feet in diameter, but when the storm brought it down we discovered the whole trunk was hollow from rot.
  5. With my favorite sushi restaurant in Manhattan gone, I had to ask my brother-in-law for a recommendation.
  6. The little red fox trotted out of the henhouse looking very pleased with himself.
  7. Rick assigned the climbing route an easier rating because the handholds were large and the overhang was less steep than he expected.
  8. In a matter of months, her weaving technique became known as a great time-saver for antique loom enthusiasts.
  9. Until we can contain the contaminants in the lab, all biotech operations will have to be shut down.
  10. Weekends with my grandmother typically included an evening watching Charlie’s Angels and The Love Boat on her little black-and-white television.
  11. It’s troubling to think zoos care more about their profits than about the well-being of their animals.
  12. I hardly had any customers tonight, so you can zero me out before you split the tips.
  13. That first evening back in San Francisco, the scent of the night jasmine evoked a strong olfactory memory of living there in my twenties.
  14. The sanctuary was bathed in soft light, for at the ceiling’s apex, rays of sunlight streamed through the stained glass windows.
  15. Whenever he and his band toured in Japan, loyal fans camped out for days to buy tickets to his performances.
  16. My kids like kiwis and mangos, but they never developed a taste for papayas.
  17. At school, Juliet tried her best to get along with her sister, but the tensions between them only grew worse as they developed a common group of friends.
  18. Although Amelia did hit the target three times, she overshot eleven or twelve times as she was warming up.

Calculate the coordinates as follows (you may assume N42/W71):

F•B - A

CGH

D•E - 2•B

F•A•(E - G)• (C-1)
