Geocache Description:

Another in the ever increasing Church Micro series which started off in November 2007 by Sadexploration who placed the first ever CM cache in Earslwood near Redhill Surrey.
Since then over 13,000 caches have been placed in the UK in or near churches (as at placed date for this cache, in Sept 2021 this was just over 15,000). As a result this has become the largest theme linked series in the world of geocaching - here is another to add to this record breaking series

Headcorn Baptist Church

The Baptist community in Headcorn dates from around 1675, the first chapel having been at Bounty Farm in Love Lane.

The present building in Station Road, was opened in 1819 where the congregation met in a new place of worship under a Unitarian persuasion in the village.  The move back to a Trinitarian belief was gradual.  A special Act of Parliament in 1919 was accompanied by the church becoming a member of the Baptist Union.

The current building was renovated and extended in 1978, following the addition of a hall in 1971

So, on to the cache - Church Micro #13041

Parking - you may be lucky to get a space along Station Road which will give you 2 hours free parking, otherwise there are a couple of car parks where you will have to pay.

At the given co-ordinates you will gather some information to enable you to work out the final coordinates where you will find a hand crafted cache. Due to proximity and few places to hide near the church the final location will be around 1/2 mile away.

Standing in front of the church :
Date at the top of the building = ABCD

Now go to the bench to the left and look at the plaque :
How many consonants on the first line = EF
How many vowels on the second line = G
How many ‘R’s on the third line = H

Cache can be found at N51 09.(F+H) (D-B) ((D-G)+C) E000 37.(D-A) (F+C) (H+E)

As mentioned there is a bit of a walk to get to the cache (Do not be tempted to re-locate and get to it from the south, what looks like a short route is not possible) - It is recommended you look at 'VS 1677 Headcorn' (GC8EAJQ) and 'War Memorial 914 Headcorn' (GC8FPZ9) too, if you haven't already done so wink

Please handle the cache carefully, linked to the cache theme it is a handmade container (found inside a camo bag) and does need gentle handling - There is room for a TB or two.
