Geocache Description:

STOP!  Look around, you see a couple of homes nearby.  Before I lived in this area, both of those homes on this side of the road had their road number on the main road here.  Because this little road used to be their driveway!  Recenty, because of 911 changes, they have both changed their house numbers to be on the secondary road for emergency services to be able to find them.

But if this was a driveway, why is it a tar road today?  Before I moved here it was a dirt road, and only 10 homes on the road, ending in a cul-de-sac.  Eventually, the town and the residents got together and opted for changing the then dirt road to a tarred road, albeit with residents paying a hefty price each over a number of years to get that done.  And there is a dirt road off this tarred road that still feels the pain of the bumps and potholes from a dirt road, but not enough residents to ante-up and pay for tarring that road.

So where you are likely standing changed from a driveway, to a lane, to a road which it is today.  But as a road, instead of ten homes, there is a large development where the road used to end, and lots of new homes.  Some a few years old, and now yet another development beyond those - a very large cleared area with a single home today and markings for new ones.

With so many homes being built, you can see from a map that this road may at some point connect to another main road at the other end.  What happens then?  Does this becomes a larger road like the main one the stop sign keeps you from going on? Probably.  Change is unavoidable, progress happens, and watching it over the years the changes from driveway, to lane, road, and possibly to something larger looms in the future!
