*Event dependent on conditions and reopening of Alpine National Park*
Last year a small group of us spent a day here, and attempted to make our way down to Hell. We failed. This time, we'll be going back.
You don't need to come to Hell to join thi event tho. This is a simple camping event the night before.
Mount Howitt is located in the Alpine National Park, 323Km from Melbourne CBD. The Drive to the trailhead should take around 5 hours from Melbourne. You will get to the trailhead in a 2WD vehicle. From the trailhead to Gantner Hut is approximately a 4Km Hike.
This is an evening event held at Ganter hut campground. It will be BYO everything, you will need to be self sufficient for an overnight hike in Alpine conditions (expect anything).
Getting There: Best parking is at the Trailhead coordinates which is approximately a 5 Hour Drive from Melbourne. The majority of us however will be taking King Billy and Bluff Link track across from Mount Buller. You will then need to load up your backpack with anything you need and start walking.
