This is the bonus cache for the Picnics and Politics for Over 1000 Years geocaching adventure lab cache. As you go around the locations in the adventure you will pick up bonus letters and numbers.
Over 800 years ago, King John met with a group of barons on this small patch of countryside. It was here he sealed Magna Carta, seen by many as the symbolic first step on the road to modern democracy. In this spirit, today Runnymede has several memorials and art installations to the ongoing struggle for liberty. With it's proximity to the river, and ample parking it is a very popular site for picnics at the right time of the year. This Adventure Lab Cache you need to complete in order to find this cache will take you on a tour of Runnymede to visit 5 different sites. As well as the monument to Magna Carta, you will visit memorials to JFK, Queen Elizabeth II and the art installations 'The Jurors' and 'Writ in Water.'
Access to some sites can get very muddy and wet at certain times of the year, and boots or even wellies would be a very good idea. You can visit the sites in any order you wish, however if you are planning on completing thisbonus cache, then I would suggest visiting 'Writ in Water' last.
