A wonderful hike past vernal pools, marshes, and through hardwood and pine forest in the Essex County Greenbelt Association Farnsworth Reservation in North Andover. There are several unofficial entrances with the official trailhead on South Bradford Street.
This cache is located in the beautiful Essex County Greenbelt Association Farnsworth Reservation in North Andover along an old woods road called Wildcat Road that overlooks a beautiful open meadow along Mosquito Brook that many hope will one day be added to this amazing reservation. Depending on your route, you will likely see vernal pools, rock walls, wetland marshes, and a bog bridge as you hike trough hardwood and pine forest that has reclaimed cleared farmland over the last century. Keep on the lookout for deer, hawks, wood ducks, and owls. There is an owl nesting box along one trail near the cache which was used in the Spring of 2016. The cache is a non-premium and easier hide than the original. It is big enough to hold a log and a few small items, but please bring your own pen.
