All aboard the Hogwarts Express! Built in the early-to-mid 19th century by Ottaline Gambol (former minister of magic) the train was constructed to transport students to and from Hogwarts every year without attracting muggle attention. A 4-6-0 Hall Class steam locomotive model number GWR 5900, it departs platform nine and three quarters at 11 AM sharp at the beginning of each school year (and after every holiday), arriving at Hogwarts in the early evening. All Hogwarts students are required to arrive at school via the Hogwarts Express (as decreed by the Ministry of Magic). The train was inspired by the muggle invention of trains, and after construction, the ministry used 167 muggles to move the train onto the tracks, and then used 167 memory charms to fix their memories (this relocation and installation also required the largest concealment charm ever performed in Great Britain).
And now you can visit the Hogwarts Express, too! Hidden throughout the Rafton Reservation/Wood Hill area, these three caches can be completed together or as individual trips. Each is hidden near a trail but involves a short bushwhack at the end, so bring bug spray and be sure to check for ticks when you're finished. Be careful with the cache containers; they are, after all, magical artifacts, and are irreplacable. Not only do you need to find the cache, you also must locate and sign the log to count this as a find. All logs are accessable without removing any pieces or taking anything apart (you'll understand when you get there). Be sure to replace the log and container exactly as found to preserve this cache for other people to enjoy! And please, no trade items or trackables in these caches.
