This cache is placed along Cotton Brook Road at a fork in the road. The left fork goes slightly downhill to the Little River Canoe Access area. At this point, forking to the right uphill, Cotton Brook Road becomes a trail, gated to exclude use by cars. In summer, it is a popular place for walkers and mountain bikers. In winter, it is groomed for snowmobiling, and also used for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and dog sledding.
This cache was placed with permission by Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation, as it lies within Mt. Mansfield State Forest. The container is a small lock&lock. The terrain rating is for months when the road is gated, as it is an easy half mile walk each way. In summer, it is a very short walk from the posted summer parking area.
