Another opening in the woods, about a 3 mile hike from the trailhead in Whiteface Intervale. In a beech tree at the edge of the field is a bear's nest. It is formed by a bear as it sits on a sturdy limb and pulls smaller limbs towards itself to get the beechnuts. Often the branches break, and I guess the bear shoves it under its butt?! Anyway, as far as I know they don't use the nest for anything else. This one is the lowest I've ever seen, usually the nests are high up in the tree.
This cache is not hidden right at the bear's nest. Look at the attributes and the hint if you need it.
