Pathway Of Palm Trees Traditional Cache

The geocache is placed along the pathway of palm trees I call it. The palm trees are towering above the bushes below. These trees have a particualer and strange type of shape. They do not have branches everywhere like a redwood, instead they grow out on the very top, where a coconut should be. take a look close, the same branches on the stem are the same on the top, but why dont they grow? I never can figure out why. Maybe they need to be cut off, maybe they don't grow at all. These trees are interesting, some are smaller and have a big stem, those sometimes look like massive mushrooms. Some are really tall and need stabilizers, others the branches growing thoughout the stem aren't visible. Are there diffrent types of palm trees?

I would like to know what are your thoughts on these palm trees. Have you seen these little branches that don't grow?
