Geocache Description:

Note: the published coordinates are not correct.  The correct location is not in the woods off Knox Mtn. Rd.  It is along the same road that my other "East Bank of the Pemi" caches are located on.  The powers that be won't let me move the coordinates more than 528' so I'm giving you the correct ones here.  It's still a challenge.

N 43 30.642'  W71 41.013'

This cache is on a rock outcropping that gives an elevated view of the river and woods.  It is in the same area where residents were relocated to the new town of Hill above the west bank of the Pemi after a huge flood in 1936 which led to the Franklin Falls Dam being constructed.  Locals call this area Old Hill Village and you may have seen old foundations on the way to this place.

This is a more difficult hide than others in this area so it may take some sleuthing to find it.  Sometimes Geocaching is about the numbers and other times it's taking time to figure out where the cache is located.  If you like challenging caches, give this a try.  If the second gate is open, park off the road a little farther up the road.  It's almost 2 mi. from the first gate, but easy walking/biking on a smooth dirt road.
