Geocache Description:

Why not incorporate finding this cache into a circular walk from Waddington – a picturesque, peaceful route that is very popular with the locals.

The farmers here have a lot of trouble with people leaving gates open, trespassing and dropping litter, so please stick to the Public Rights of Way, close gates if you open them, and pick up any litter you see.

Answer the questions to receive the precise Lat and Long coordinates!

Question 1

This new riverside woodland was planted with the help of lots of local people. What are the benefits of planting trees next to rivers?

- They help to keep rivers warm, produce carbon dioxide, and prevent fish from being eaten by their natural predators. (N 53° 53.327)

OR

- They cast shade and keep rivers cool, reduce flood risk, reduce the risk of pollution, provide habitat for a wide range of wildlife, help to store carbon (and so help to fight climate change) and produce the oxygen we need to breath. (N 53° 53.317)

Question 2

If you visit this site in the summer months, you might notice a plant called Himalayan Balsam growing along the riverbanks. It’s an Invasive Non-Native Species that isn’t meant to be here and can cause problems for rivers and native flora. How can you (and anyone!) help to reduce the spread of INNS such as Himalayan Balsam?

- Check, clean, dry (W 002° 25.400)

OR

- Ignore, stay muddy and wet (W 002° 25.417)
