Algiers Village, in the Town of Guilford, was named for a crew of Algerian Pirates. At least that is how these East Guilford cribbage players were referred to by their Brattleboro opponents (Sometime in the late 1700's or early 1800's). The name stuck and this became known as the Village of Algiers.
This cache is located near the historic 1817 Broad Brook House, one of the oldest surviving tavern houses in the state.
