Welcome to "Planes Over Chicopee". I found 14 model C-5nGalaxy Aircraft scattered around beautiful Chicopee, Massachusetts. The models of the planes were used for a fundraiser to help build the new senior center located at 5 West Main Street. Often you can hear these gigantic metal monsters screaching across the Chicopee Skyline. Many Chicopean's refer to that deafing sound as "the sound of freedom". Before you begin your quest learn a little about the C5 Galaxy.
The Lockheed C-5 Galaxy is a large military transport aircraft originally designed and built by Lockheed and now maintained and upgraded by its successor, Lockheed Martin. It provides the United States Air Force (USAF) with a heavy intercontinental-range strategic airlift capability, one that can carry outsized and oversized loads, including all air-certifiable cargo. The C-5 is among the largest military aircraft in the world.
At each location you will find a version of the C-5 painted to represent a certain aspect or place in Chicopee. You will also have to answer a question about the surrounding area. The correct answer will be part of the final coordinates for this geocache. You will not find many of the answers online so get off the couch and get out there. You should not have to go on private property to obtain the answers to the clues. Most answers can be done from the car or sidewalk. Bring a sheet of paper and pencil with you to write down the answers for the location of the final location and container. Please replace as found.
