This cache is placed in a remote location of the Bear Hole watershed (W. Springfield, MA). I chose this location for 2 reasons; 1. there are no caches within 1/2 mile, and 2. The first book I can remember my parents reading to me as a child was titled " The Old Prospector" named Pegleg Pete, hence placing it atop Prospect Hill seemed to make sense.
The cache contains various swag including a bison and other CC's for anyone interested in placing their own cache.
Access from parking lot on Morgan Rd. just south of Mass. Pike. The cache is located between 2 trials, the northern-most trail runs roughly parallel to the Pike. Both trails are ill-defined in places, so use the trail view on your app/gps to verify your location. As long as you keep the Pike on your left on the way out and on the right on your way back, you can't go wrong. The terrain rating is based on a few ups and downs, but also the difficulty staying on the trail and needing to bushwhack when you stray.
