Camping available at 49n58.52 by 121w13.36 , which is a provincial
campsite near the summit of Stoyoma Mtn. near Merritt B.C. .
Four-wheel drive or equivalent required to access the last two
miles to Lake . Hike on trail last two miles to geocache reaching
an altitude of 6300 ft.
The Conair Geocache on Stoyoma Mtn. consists of a sealed ten litre
white plastic bucket containing the following items;a Log Book with
Photographs as well as, old paper two dollar bill , 2 canadian flag
pins, Dutch collecter spoon ,cows tooth, cook book ,4 silver fifty
cent coins, softball ,Knotts Berry farm crushed penny ,santa wine
cork plus many other items .This could also be considered a virtual
cache as visitors will find out and I await there questions as to
what happened here . Access is ussually summer and fall only via
the Prospect Creek forest service from Highway #8 near Merritt B.C.
. From the Cabin Lake campsite there is no need for the hard
scramble over the mountain as indicated by your GPS . Follow the
trail from the far end of the lake to the geocache site, this part
takes my family about two hours each way . This is a place of
legends , but very few visitors and the vistas from this location
are unparrallelled as you can see Mount Baker in Washington State
approx. 100 miles away .
