Briar Hill Conservation Area
Description: This 50-acre property was acquired by the Town of Williamsburg in 1964 and is managed by the Williamsburg Conservation Commission. In the 1970s, volunteers developed trails and picnic areas on this land.
The current trail, built on an old woods road, begins in a young hardwood forest, crosses Cold Brook and climbs through hemlock, oak, and hickory stands to a vista overlooking the northern parts of town, with views of the Conway State Forest. This trail is less than 1.5 miles round trip.

Location: Turn right onto Old Goshen Road from MA-9, 1.1 mi. west of Williamsburg Village. Continue for 0.4 mi. Stay right at the “Y” intersection with Old Goshen Road onto Hemenway Road. Continue 0.7 mi from the “Y” then bear left onto Briar Hill Road. Continue 1.6 mi. Kiosk and parking area will be on the right.
