A quick find in a quiet neighborhood fishing spot abutting Bartlett Pond. You will find a small clearing with access to the water and a memorial bench. The bench was placed there in memory of my brother. He spent many hours fishing on the pond. Sit for a second and take in the view!
The pond itself is considered a great pond and is approximately 33 acres. In its heyday, the pond was often used for waterskiing and even swimming. Unfortunately, it has been plagued on/off by bacteria in recent years. However, in the nice weather, the pond is still often used for fishing and kayaking. If you look directly across you will see Whitehorse Beach and Cape Cod Bay. Bartlett Pond is brackish and has an outlet to the ocean that runs under Taylor Avenue known as Bartlett Brook. The pond is connected to Beaver Dam Brook which is now running again thanks to the Massachusetts Audobon Society's Tidmarsh Farms Reconstruction project.
Cache is a waterproof container. Contains a logbook and room for trackables.
