Geocache Description:

This is a simple, family-friendly geocache in a location that will delight children and adults alike.  It is part of a series that highlights some of the fantastic, less-traveled trails in Lincoln.

These are relatively quiet Lincoln Land Conservation trails.  If you are lucky, the only noise you will hear will be one of the many red-bellied woodpeckers that frequent this area.  Recommended parking is at the Browning Field riding ring near the intersection of Silver Hill Road and Weston Road.

This cache is intentionally placed slightly away from the main attraction.  Do not search the structure as the cache is not there.

These conservation areas southeast of Lincoln Center are filled with upland pastures, open water, areas of bog, and forested wetlands.

Let us be grateful for the remarkable work conservationists at the local, state, and federal level have done in Lincoln.

Silver Hill Bog was one of LLCT’s first land acquisitions.  Browning Fields are well known in town as bobolink nesting grounds, a threatened bird species in Massachusetts.

Pigeon Hill was once home to a flock of passenger pigeons. The acquisition of Browning Fields and Pigeon Hill is a result of decades of negotiations and support from owners, neighbors, the Conservation Commission, LLCT, and matching funds from state and federal government.
