This is part of the Steeples Adventure Lab Series
In the Early 1900's the Italian Catholics needed a place to worship. They purchased property at 100 Holden St, built a wooden church, and the 1st service was held in 1906..
The congregation grew and in the years after WWII, funds were raised, and the property at this location was purchased and a New Bigger church was built. It was dedicated in 1958
In the late 1900's and early 2000's the decline in the number of Catholics caused the merger of many of the Catholic churches in North Adams. The latest Merge was St Francis with St Anthony which caused the renaming of the parish to St Elizabeth of Hungary. This is now the only Catholic church in North Adams.
