...The world is gonna roll me, I ainât the sharpest tool in the shed
She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an "L" on her forehead
Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do, so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets?
You'll never know if you don't go
You'll never shine if you don't glow
Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play! (Smashmouth, Allstar)Â
Welcome to the back streets of Lunenburg - get your all star on, get your game on and go play to conquer this evil Easter-themed cache! It is quite close to the trail in Lunenburgâs Large Town Forest, very close to Hickory Woods. The cache is not difficult to find. Please unscrew the lid, donât peel it off (helps with waterproofing). And please screw the lid back on tightly!  You must sign the official log to claim finding this cache. Please be sure to put everything in the cache back as you found it, you all star, you! Plenty of room in there for swag.
We hope you have fun enjoying the great outdoors, and feeling like a winner with this evil little cache of ours (our first!). PLEASE no spoilers with photos or in the comments, because we want it to remain true that youâll never know if you donât go!Â
Congrats to nfr5013 on the wet and chilly FTF!Â
One of my favorite walks is to start from the trailhead on Wildwood Rd. then hike through a portion of the Town Forest to get to the other Hickory Woods trails. I believe there are even some new trails blazed in the town forest, but theyâre not yet all marked. My advice is to use the maps in All Trails (alltrails.com or the app) - the cache is located on the Town Forest trail that connects Hickory Woods "Main trail" from Wildwood Rd. to the larger portion of Hickory Woods. (see photo - the red circle marks Wildwood Rd, and the X marks the trail you want to be on to find the cache.)
Though there is not a parking area, there is space to pull over on the side of the road next to the trailheads, accessible from Wildwood Rd. and toward the end of Island Rd. Neither have official parking areas but they are both quiet, dead-end streets with room for a car or two to pull off on the road near the trailhead. Hickory Woods are no longer private property - they are public trails! For a much longer hike, you can also access this via The Lane Conservation Area, where there is a good parking area and many beautiful trails that run along Mulpus Brook. These trails also connect with the Lunenburg Large Town Forest. The best trail maps are available at Alltrails.com, or in Geocaching premium.Â
You can also Lunenburg's trail system map or Hickory Hills' trail map, though the latter has not been updated to include this trail. Hickory Hills (still noted as Dickinson Reservoir on most maps) is a private lake - residents and their guests only. Sorry!
