Geocache Description:

In June of 2014, jemx placed a series of caches in and around Troy and Jay Vermont, extending almost to the Canadian border.  There were very few words in the descriptions, and usually no hints.  The names of the caches were just numbers, with the code jemx-vt.   As a new cacher, these intrigued me, because they were slightly different than I had seen elsewhere.  There were different containers, and different hides.  It wasn't hard to deduce that our hider was Canadian, and possibly not English speaking.  It was a blessing from a near neighbor in Mansonville Quebec.

There were about 50 caches in Vermont, and more than twice as many across the border in the Eastern Townships.  As there were few caches to find in this part of the NEK, this series really filled a gap, and we enjoyed it for many years.

During the pandemic year of 2020, the series was archived.  Its loss was felt in Vermont.  The note said the owner had moved.  Perhaps he has, although his page still says he is right next door in PQ.  I think it is another loss attributal to C19, which closed our borders, keeping us from our friends in Canada, and them from us.  Can't maintain a series if you can't cross the border.  The Canadian portion of his hides have not  been archived.

As we get closer to the time when we get fully inoculated and can cache across borders again, I am reusing a location from that series to give a heartfelt thank you to jemx.   Thank you for a great series in our backyard for six years. You taught us a few things, including that there is no language barrier in caching.   MERCI BEAUCOUP,  VOISIN!

I am reusing the location and also one of the ccs I found in jemx's caches. Congratulations to mylady17 for FTF.
