This is a two stage multi cache placed along the Amesbury Riverwalk rail trail. This end of the trail starts at the Salisbury Point Railroad and meanders next to the Powow River. The Powow River watershed extends to Danville, New Hampshire, and encompasses about 58 square miles of land. The river meanders through several communities before flowing into Lake Attitash and Lake Gardner and then reaching the falls in the millyard. From the upper dam in the millyard to the tidal waters in Heritage Park, there is an 80-foot drop in elevation over a distance of about a quarter mile.
At the posted coordinates, you will be standing at the Salisbury Point Railroad and the informational sign. To obtain the final coordinates, take the two years found on the top of the informational sign to calculate the projection feet and bearing.
Year 1 = ABCD and Year 2 = EFGH
The only math is addition and subtraction.
Projection feet (3 numbers): F (B - A) (C + A + E)
Projection degrees (3 numbers): (F - G) H (D - A - E)
You can use the geochecker below to verify your final coordinates.
