Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches located in Haw Ridge Park -- a geocaching park. The caches are maintained by the Friends of Haw Ridge Park in cooperation with the City of Oak Ridge Recreations & Parks. The park terrain is wooded and hilly, and the trails rough. You'll need water, trail map, and hiking shoes. The trails can also be ridden by experienced mountain bikers. The park is accessible by canoe and sea kayak as well. It can be hot and humid in the summer. Fall colors abound in late October, and wild flowers in mid April. The park is closed three weekends each fall for deer hunts.

The caches are near the various trails that run through the park, so no bushwhacking is required or desired. Use one of the trail maps available at the Haw Ridge trails page to plan and guide your search. For other caches in the park click on "Nearby caches" or visit the Haw Ridge caches page for an overview of the cache locations and top geocachers.

Location 1. The "Green Hill Trio" -- sounds like a gospel singing group .... The coordinates will take you to a tall trio on a hill not far from Red Hill. On one of the trio, find the two digit number that is high above your head. Multiply that number by 10 and that is the distance in feet to Location 2. Subtract the smaller digit from the larger digit of the two digit number and that will give you the position in the alphabet of the letter that indicates the compass-direction to Location 2. Proceed to location 2, following the "line".

Location 2. Here you must again locate a two digit number. Add that number to the year that Elvis Presley died. Now add that 4-digit sum to the last four digits of

N 35° 57.767
Subtact the distance in feet between Location 1 and Location 2 from the last three digits of
W 84° 10.465
Now you have the final coordinates of the cache.

In case you forgot to do your homework, the last two digits of the year that Elvis died are the sum of the two numbers you found at location 1 and location 2.
