This is the first of 5 in my Mt. Tom Dinosaur series. Over 100 million years ago , Mt. Tom was an active volcano and dinosaurs roamed this area(see dinosaur tracks along route 5 Holyoke) This cache is a micro planted inside a small size prop / toy Dinosaur - all these caches are various dinaosaurs , all are micro's placed inside the toy dinosaurs.,so bring your tweezers to help extract the logs. The logs may slide right out to make it easier for you to take out and replace as i used a plastic straw to hold and keep rolled up - please be careful not to drop it as you open each as there difficult to find on the forest floor. Please byop. 4 of the 5 in this series are good hikes , so bring water. I use to live directly below the old hotel on this mountain off East Street in Easthampton , so i know that ticks are extremely plentiful in this Easthampton/Holyoke area -- so spray and check for ticks! I hope that you enjoy this series! PLEASE NOTE: Mt.Tom Reservation and all Mass State Parks that charge an entry fee are raising their prices from $5 per carload to $8 starting Memorial Day Weekend 2021' until about Columbus Day (October) You can park outside of either entrance (if available) either on Reservation Rd next to rte 91 overpass by gate or rte 141 Easthampton across from Log Cabin on top of the mountain NONE of the dinosaur series is winter friendly.. Happy caching! Have a Great Day! QuietBear
