The cache is found along a well-known, well-established, and published multi-use trail system (hiking, mountain biking, ATVing, snow mobiling) featuring very hilly terrain.
Depending on the time of year, and what trail you use, there can be a lot of snow, mud, and water hazards. That just adds to the adventure, and what draws people to the area, me for the exercise.
There are a lot of quarries around (our property even borders one!), and this trail passes to the east of an old abandoned one. Looking at this makes me realize how hard the work must have been many years ago!
The cache is along what appears to be an old, unmarked trail leading away from the quarry; nature is reclaiming the trail. Bushwhacking is not necessary, except for maybe the last few feet. The cache container is located safely off the ground and may be opened from either end. Bring your own writing implement (BYOP).
