Bring your dog and go for a walk in Lake Padden Park. Lake Padden is a Bellingham city park and they have thoughtfully provided an off-leash dog training area where you and your dog can have a game of frisbee, fetch sticks, or just have a good run around. Don’t forget your poop bags.
On July 1, 2005 we updated the coords and the Letterboxing clues, tidied up the box and restocked the contents.
Start at the parking area N 48º 41.890 ‘ W 122º 26.594’ and walk your dog on leash to the cache at N 48º 41.862’ W 122º 26.628’. Choose a special toy for your dog. The cache is filled with dog related items such as balls, squeaky toys, bandanas and tug toys. Bring a dog related item for trade. Please remember to leave no food or perishable items! Also in this cache is a geocache log and a letterbox containing log and stamp. For more details on letterboxing, visit www.letterboxing.org. The box also contains some brochures about Summit Assistance Dogs, a nonprofit organization that trains assistance dogs for people with disabilities. Check it out!
With your new toy you can proceed to the off-leash dog training area at N 48º 41.880’ W 122º 26.505’ and play with your dog.
Check out the map at the parking lot trailhead for other park amenities such as trails, swimming, fishing, ballparks and picnic areas.
