This is another of my series of caches on the east bank of the Pemigewasset River in Sanbornton, NH. It was inspired by the gadget caches in WV. If you don't know about this, check out GC82GH1 for a good introduction. I found a couple and was stumped by a couple more. I scheming about how to spend a weekend there.
Riding a bike is the easiest way to find my cache. It's about 2.0 mi. from the first gate you encounter at the end of Shaw Hill Rd. This gate is usually open except in winter and when the water behind Franklin Falls Dam is too high, like after the remains of a hurricane. Then there is another gate that is usually closed except during pheasant season (don't dress like a pheasant at this time). The cache is about 1.4 mi. from this gate but you can go around it on a bike and continue. Or walk. You will pass by my 5 other caches. There is another beyond this one. When you are close you will see a field on the left. You can leave the road and go directly to it through the woods or go past it a little and go through an opening into the field and then travel a little way to the cache. Please replace things as you find them. FTG gets a combo whistle, compass, and thermometer.
Also check out the large concrete block that is used for training helicopters to lift--marked by bright little flags nearby.

Based on some feedback: it's easier to go through the woods to get to the cache. The field works but the woods are not as thick as I thought.
