On April 19, 1775, 265 Woburn Patriots, led by Major Loammi Baldwin, answered the call to arms. As they marched along this route now known as Battle Road, they heard "a great firing" of muskets on Lexington Green. They hurried on to Lexington to join the pursuit of the British to Concord and later to engage the Regulars with punishing fire at Bloody Angle.
Located alongside conservation land, a portion of this historic road, originally called Old Lexington Road, remains preserved much as it was in the 18th century, boardered with ancient stone walls.
The cache is locateded not far from the path along Battle Road. Parking is available on Brisco Street by the trailhead. Bug repellent may be needed in season.
