I always knew that the Albany Post Road, traveling between Boston and Albany crossed this hill. Always wondered why? Wouldn't it have been easier just to have followed the Whetstone? Well, Brattleboro was originally located here. They wanted it up high so they could see if the locals were going to attack them.
