Subject: Crown Jewels Theft (Classified)

Status: Perpetrators apprehended. Artefacts whereabouts unknown.

Missing artefacts: Koh-i-Noor, Sovereign's Orb, Sovereign's Rings, Sovereign's Sceptre, St Edward's Crown.

Perpetrators: "Darrin Mad Eyes", "Thurmond the Eccentric", "Drew the Bug", "Swindling Marco", "Foolish Spike"

Agent Beefeater: Following the recent theft of five priceless artefacts from the Tower of London the perpetrators have been apprehended. However they will not talk thus the locations where the artefacts have been hidden remain unknown. We need your help to scrutinise the evidence we have retrieved and determine where each of the artefacts are. You will then need to embark on a covert retrieval mission.

Detailed mission instructions:

  1. Using the evidence we have obtained determine the locations for each of the artefacts from the evidence files:

  2. Go to each of the locations to verify the artefacts are there but do not retrieve the artefactsThese will be retrieved by our other agents.

  3. Verify your find with me "Agent Beefeater" by sending the unique identification code on each artefact to agentbeefeater@gmail.com. You should do this after finding each separate artefact placing the code within the Subject Line. Please send separate emails and avoid replying directly to my instructions to maximise operational efficiency.

  4. Follow all instructions received to the letter in order to be able to locate and claim your final reward.

Note: You may wish to add both agentbeefeater@gmail.com and agentbeefeater+canned.response@gmail.com to your email safe senders list to prevent any responses being marked as spam. You can also test the system is working for you ahead of your visit by sending a message to agentbeefeater@gmail.com containing "GC9MRR4".

-----------------------------//MESSAGE ENDS//--------------------------------

To complete your mission you will need:

  • Time and patience.
  • To read and follow all instructions.
  • A fully charged 9 volt PP3 battery.

Important notes:

  • This is NOT a cache and dash!
  • Doing this at night is not recommended.
  • Please employ maximum stealth at GZ.
  • All constructive feedback gratefully received.

Hint, tips and miscellaneous:

  • Contact the cache owner in advance if you want a "Phone a Friend".
  • Difficulty and terrain ratings are cumulative, though final GZ location is a bit "awkward".

Time: Allow at least 4 hours but longer if you want to make a day of it.

The walk: A beautiful circular undulating walk of around 6 miles / 9.5km if finding all artefacts and this cache in one go as intended/recommended. Total elevation is around 750 feet / 230 metres.

Starting location: Parking at the suggested parking waypoint is permitted and advised. There is no need to visit the published coords which is simply the location on an appropriately named but currently closed pub.

Congratulations to Herts_Skip and Sapphirites for the FTF!

The Crown Jewels Top Cache Geocoin

After his visits on 18th March 2022 Amberel was kind enough to award this cache his Top Cache status, and has subsequently provided a trackable geocoin.

This has now been placed in the cache for finders to DISCOVER if they wish.

Please do not GRAB or RETRIEVE as the geocoin must remain in the cache.
