A microcache in the woods, but very close to the trail. We're trying to add to caches in Lunenburg AND keep ticks to a minimum by eliminating bush whacking. My daughter and I hid this cache on our first hike from Hickory Woods to Lane Conservation area via Lunenburg Town Forest. This is a beautiful area with the babbling Mulpus Brook nearby. As we found this spot, we were listening to one of my daughter's favorite artists, Taylor Swift, and her song titled "A Place in This World" came on. We thought it was a fitting name for this hide together.
You can access this cache from a few different places. The longest hike would be from Lane Conservation Area at 200 Holman St. There is also a trailhead off Island Rd. and access from Wildwood Road, but not much space for parking. Bring your bug spray in the warmer months! You can find a complete map from Lunenburg's town site, and Alltrails.com has a great one. If you have Geocache Premium those trail maps are great in this area as well. (Hickory Woods part of the town trails now, but if anyone gives you a hard time about parking, you can feel free to remind them nicely of this and that parking on the side of a public road is permitted. I’ve heard from one cacher that someone had a problem with this, but usually the neighbors around here are super friendly!)
