Geocache Description:

This is a bonus cache for the Adventure Lab - Historic Revere Copper Company.

You must first complete the Adventure Lab which will provide you with the cordinates for the final location. An FTF award is included for the first finder.

The Adventure will take you on a brief walking tour of America's first copper mill, started by Paul Revere in 1801.

Revere purchased an ironworks mill in 1800 and converted it into a copper foundry. The most important piece of equipment for the success of the mill would be the rollers themselves, large iron cylinders through which raw copper was inserted and compressed. Revere admitted the British had superior rollers, but the difficulty of purchasing them forced him to produce his own. Though Revere had insight into the British design thanks to his son's espionage mission, which combined with his own knowledge and experimentation, ultimately led to a method that produced copper sheathing of at least equal quality to that of the British.

There are more information boards around the property, be sure to check them out for additional information as well.
