This cache is placed in memory of a great human, community member, neighbor and friend, Peter Charpentier. Hence the play on words with the dinosaur name, Apataosaurus and A-pete-asaurus. This cache is located near the "dinosaur trail" in the Lane Conservation area. Peter was a local resident that I'm sure used these trails often - he was always out hiking and exploring, often with friends and family. He was kind, funny and extremely generous. Pete, we miss the heck out of you!
The bridge nearby is dedicated to Peter, and we're sure he would have loved seeing all the kids out in the woods exploring and finding dinosaurs everywhere! PLEASE BE SURE TO PUT THE CACHE CONTAINER TOGETHER TIGHTLY AND HiDE WELL IN ITS SPOT! Also - please do not remove any of the dinosaurs you may spot on your hike.
Okay, so the Apatosaurus used to be known as Brontosaurus. They are both part of the Sauropod species, and to find out more, just break out Google. As a kid, I only knew the term Brontosaurs, and this and Stegosaurus were my favorites, and I dreamed of being a paoleontologist.
