Geocache Description:

15 October 2022, 10:00 - 14:00

Welcome to the BTSF GadgetFest 2022, now in its 17th year! The theme for 2022 is, of course, Gadgets. Almost all of the caches published for this event are homemade. An Adventure Lab will also be released. Please spread the word far and wide. We would like to make this the best attended event in its history.

Submit your “will attend” as early as possible as the first 50 Cachers/Cacher Teams who sign up for the event will receive a free packet containing log sheets, a pencil, swag and a special pathtag! You must be there in person to pick up the goods. Unclaimed packets will go to the next eligible Cacher.

VENUE:

The 2022 gathering will be held, rain, snow, or shine, at Volunteers Green on Bridge St. in Richmond on Saturday, October 15th from 10am to 2pm. The posted coordinates are for the bandstand and green with parking nearby. The area has 3 picnic table and 2 benches. The bandstand is partially covered and has electrical outlets. Bring your own chair and dress for the weather.

Directions: From Interstate 89 going north or south: take the Richmond Exit 11 and head east on Route 2 about a mile to the center of Richmond. Turn right at Richmond’s lone 4 way traffic light onto Bridge Street. Volunteers Green is on the right just before the Iron bridge.

SCHEDULE:

10am – event starts / sign event log / drop off trackables / drop off potluck items / pick up packets / cache!

12pm – lunch

1pm – milestones recognized / raffle / awards presented / group photo

As in previous years we plan a potluck. Please bring a dish/dessert/treat/beverage and I will update the cache page with your edible contribution. Also it would be great if you are able to donate a cache related item for the give away table.

Geo-Recognition!
As we have done in the past, we will be voting on 3 categories which are:

  2. Best Puzzler/Series/Challenge (this doesn't necessarily have to be the most prolific puzzler, just the Cacher who you thought put out the most fun or ingenious puzzle or interesting series or challenge). Please vote only for a series which was hidden since the last BTSF event, i.e. after October 16, 2021.
  3. All-Star Geocacher (this person exemplifies good sportsmanship, is willing to help others, and does his/her part to promote the positive aspects of geocaching) The winner gets custody of the GOLDEN AMMO CAN until next years’ event. JUST SEND YOUR VOTES to Anthony.salgado@myfairpoint.net.

It is not required to vote on every category if you don't want to. (e.g. some people don't do puzzles and therefore wouldn't have an opinion on that category). In addition to the awards, let me know what milestones you are celebrating. You can also let me know at the event. We want to recognize them all.

Congratulations to last years winners:
