This site marks the crown point road that was built in 1759-60 by the British connecting Fort number 4 in Charlestown NH with Crown Point VT near Fort Ticonderoga. This military road later would become a thoroughfare used by Weathersfield citizens and homes were built on it. The geocache is near the road and there is no need to walk into the woods as this is private property. If you drive about 200 feet down the road road and pull into the grassy parking area you can folow a walking trail that will take you to a mile marker, marking the distance from fort number 4. There are two mile markers in Weathersfield.
