We placed this cache with the intention of bringing people to this beautiful location on the shore of what was originally known as Lake St. Sophia, now known as Third Connecticut Lake. The Legend of Sophia comes from a story from the Koasek tribe who hunted and fished this area. The Chiefs wife Sophia was not feeling well so they camped on the shore of this lake. She died at camp and was burried in an undisclosed location near the lake.
This lake is also the final resting place of my Dads tackle box and pole from the late 80s when he and my older brother sank an old magnesium canoe on our way back to the boat launch. We did recover the canoe but not the gear.
You are looking for a micro container that should not be too difficult to spot. Bring your tweezers to retieve the log and replace the container as you found it.
