Geocache Description:

-- Owner Comment 2022-01-04 -- A lot has happened since this 'virtual' was activated in 2002. The whole purpose is to describe the effect of natural erosion and how it affects people and the landscape around us. I have kept the original description below, untouched, as part of the story with this special location. I'm truly happy and grateful so many have visited this spectacular place, THANKS :)

---Erosion at work---

[EN] Besides the magnificent view, these coordinates has another speciality: Situated at the rim some 23m above sea level you can easily reach the position, -it's a simple walk on the road. However in a few years, this may not be the case unless you have wings!! :-) The little town, 'Nørre Lyngby' is heavily affected by the sea's erosion. Due to numerous storms and the never ending surf, roads which are still on some official maps (and Garmins R&R-CD's) has now been washed away. As has some nearby houses and an old discontinued graveyard! Further north, near the little town "Lønstrup" you can visit the abandoned church, "Maarup Kirke" which is sitting just some 30meters from the edge, awaiting its inevitable faith. Erosion at work.

Erosion i arbejde.
