Winter Solstice 2022 Event Cache

Please join us for the Winter Solstice 2022 celebration at 2 Center Street in Exeter, NH. We experience the winter's shortest day, and at 4:48 pm the sun is exactly overhead the Tropic of Capricorn. The solstice is derived from the Latin word solstitium, which means the sun stands still. It is at this time that it reaches the southern-most position as seen from earth. The sun at this moment seems to stand still at the Tropic of Capricorn and then it reverses its direction. It is the official start of the winter season that ends at the March equinox. At this venue,  we can tip our glass, whether you indulge or not, at 4:48 in celebration of the official winter solstice time.  The venue at Czar's Brewery has set aside a table for geocachers to meet and greet.  You are welcome to grab a beverage and some food or not. Exeter has plenty of free street parking and a lot across the street.  There may even be a beverage named in  honor of the solstice   We hope to see you there!
