Geocache Description:

Babson Outing Club (BOC) Cache No. 11 - The Van Winkle Time Loop

The year is 2078 and you are an intrepid urban explorer. Two decades ago, Babson College made the tough decision to relocate permanently to their Miami campus after climate change made New England winter storms unbearable for many students and faculty, thus leaving their Wellesley campus abandoned. You have since set your eyes on finding the fabled "Van Winkle Tunnel", a long lost maintenance tunnel where students who dared to venture into it are rumored to have been trapped, with nothing but scattered buckets of paint to aid their endless wander through industrial purgatory.

After days of scouring the internet for clues and leads, you set out to the ruins of Van Winkle Hall and knock down a wall on the first floor revealing an elevator shaft. After shimmying carefully down the shaft, you slowly bask in your surroundings: a intricate labyrinth of halls, doors, and machinery as far as the eye can see--all covered in the scribblings of students from a time long passed! However, your excitement slowly turns to dread as you look up and notice the elevator shaft has disappeared right before your eyes!

The first etching you notice on the wall is a riddle and incomplete coordinates. Perhaps this is the key out of this wretched hellscape! Can you solve the riddle of the Van Winkle time loop and escape, or will you be doomed to roam these halls for all eternity like many before you?

Hidden among these halls lies an ancient agaric who has a singular open eye.

The number of villi possessed by this creature halved is where the first clue lies.

A maroon cadaver utters its dying phrase over and over in sempiternal perpetuation.

Great Rocs brought destruction upon minarets a number of years after the phrase's creation.

Within the last word of hidden Iberian wisdom is a symbol in English not typically received.

The last digit of its emphatized twin's decimal value in the new language of Babel is the next clue you need.

At the end of the land, lies a beast urging one to do what he does without fear.

The the last digit of number of fangs this beast bears plus one is the last clue to get out of here.
