This cache is placed in Wade for my caching friends who are working on the Maine Cities and Towns Challenge.
My husband and I spent an afternoon traveling many of Wade's roads looking for an interesting location for the cache. We ended up where we began-by the Aroostook River. After all, who doesn't like a cache along a river?
The Aroostook River runs for 112 miles. Its headwaters are at the confluence of Millinocket Stream and Munsungan Stream. It empties into the Saint John River in Aroostook, New Brunswick, not far from Fort Fairfield, Maine.
The name Aroostook is derived from the Malecite name Wool-as-took. It means "good river for everything".
Congratulations to 3Woofs for FTF. It was perfect that they received the FTF as they asked for this cache to placed in Wade!
The cache is a camoed preform at a small local boat landing. Surprisingly, this can be a busy road, so it is best to park off the road.
