Geocache Description:

A multi in beautiful Newbridge House Demesne - it can be done in addition to the Lab Cache Adventure "Stroll around Newbridge House & Farmor as standalone multi. Your choice!

Option 1

Do the lab caches in the park - you get the numbers required to calculate the final in the journal of the Lab Cache Adventure. You will find the cache at

N 53° (A*4+1).(B-3)(C-6)(B) W 006° (E-8).(D+2)(C)(C)

Option 2

Go to the given stages and collect the numbers. You can do the stages in any order, however I recommend doing them in the suggested order as stage 5 will bring you close to the final location.

Stage 1 (posted coordinates)

Newbridge park is not only for a nice walk but for a good workout too. At stage 1 you see 2 outdoor gym areas, separated by a grass section. How many green and yellow devices are there in the Northern area? Take this number as A.

Stage 2

Croquet was very a very popular game in these grounds and many croquet parties were held here back in the days. You find yourself at one of the gates to the croquet lawn. Have a closer look at this particular gate and count the figures in the centre of each of the 2 gate wings which vaguely remind of chess figures (see spoiler picture). This will give you B (even number).

Stage 3

Close to the croquet lawn you see a pretty impressive tree with mighty roots visible. It's tempting to climb it but please just admire the tree standing next to or in front of it. On the Northern side there are a couple of younger trees. A quick count will give you C (don't count the little ones with a support post).

Stage 4

Lots of animals can be seen in the park, be it farm animals near stage 1 or wildlife animals. At this stage you find some deers fenced off from visitors. There is a green sign on the fence which says to "Beware of ....". Take the number of the letters of the missing word and you get D (it's not "deer").

Stage 5

Lanestown Castle is a medieval tower house, also known as Lanistown Castle or Laudistown Castle. It is the largest of 3 towers in the Donabate area, the other 2 towers being St. Patricks and Stella's Tower. On the Eastern side of the tower you see a bricked doorway with an arch above. How many vertically laid bricks make up the arch? Take this number as E (checksum is 9).

Now you have all the numbers you need to calculate the final. You will find the cache at

N 53° (A*4+1).(B-3)(C-6)(B) W 006° (E-8).(D+2)(C)(C)

Although the calculation is easy enough you can check your final coordinates and get a hint as well as coordinates for a trailhead.
