ATTENTION, CACHE MOVED, FORMULA UPDATED!
Living for some time now in the area I had the idea to place a
cache here since long. So here ya go:
There are two independent ways finding the final coordinates for
this cache. The first one gives you a tour through the town-centre,
while the second one is more for the nature friends. As the name
indicates you can do the cache also arriving by train, however
bring a bike with you for solution 2.
Solution 1:
At the coordinates given above (where you can also park your car)
you find a river. The number in the alphabet of its first letter
gives A.
Now carry on 150m in direction 337°. You will find a nice square
there. But look around: obviously someone has spelled a word quite
wrongly here. Note down the letter, which is wrong and take its
number in the alphabet as B. Now look to the building with the
three rooftops. Take the last number on the sign left to the
entrance as number D.
So far so good! Now head back and head for the "Stadtmühle". After
several 100m you find yourself in front of a big door, which should
be open. Count the number of millstones lying behind the door in a
group. This is number C. Only one place left! Follow the way marked
with a red "X" in direction to the first place (where the carpark
is). This is also the shortest way to go there. After some 90m in
107° you will find a monument. On which stonerow (counted from
below) of the column can you find the word "Beine"? This is number
E.
The final cache coordinates can be found as follows:
N 49° 57.yyy, E8° 58.xxx
xxx = A + B + C + 5 yyy = D + E - 865
To approach the final you do not have and you should NOT CROSS ANY
PRIVATE LAND OR RAILWAY TRACKS!!!!!
Now solution 2 for the friends of nature ;-)
Start off at 49° 56.231 E 8° 57.623. There you find a small
monument. Note the last name of the man. The number of letters of
this is number M. The year noted there is number N. Now go back to
Babenhausen following the quickest way. After about 1.4km you pass
by a factory. The number of triangles in its logo is number L. Now
go to the trainstation of Babenhausen. Look for the highest number
track-number you can find. This is K. Look carefully, there might
be some unused tracks around....
The final cache coordinates can be found as:
N49° 57.yyy, E 8° 58.xxx
xxx = N + L - 1926 yyy = M + K + 640
Again, do NOT CROSS ANY PRIVATE LAND OR RAILWAY TRACKS!!!!!

ACHTUNG: CACHE AN NEUER STELLE, BERECHNUNG GEÄNDERT!!
Ihr könnt die Koordinaten auf zwei voneinander unabhängigen Wegen
herausfinden, einmal mittels eines Stadtbummels, zum anderen durch
einen Waldspaziergang.
Lösung 1:
Bei den gegebenen Koordinaten (auch ein Parkplatz) fließt ein Fluß.
Die Nummer (im Alphabet) seines ersten Buchstaben ergibt A. Gehe
nun 150m in Richtung 337°. Dort ist ein schöner großer Platz. Aber
irgendwas ist hier falsch geschrieben. Ein Buchstabe ist ganz klar
zu viel. Seine Nummer im Alphabet ist B. Das Gebäude mit den drei
Dachspitzen hat eine Tafel links vom Eingang. Die letzte Zahl ist
D.
Macht Euch nun auf den Weg zur Stadtmühle. Dort findet Ihr ein
großes Tor in der Mauer. Das Tor sollte offen sein, dahinter liegen
Mühlsteine in einer Gruppe. Deren Zahl ist C.
Puuh, fast geschafft. Das rote "X" führt Euch zum Parkplatz zurück.
Auf dem Weg dahin, etwa 90m in 107°, steht eine Säule. Auf einem
der Steine steht "Beine". Welcher Stein der Säule von unten ist
das? Die Zahl ergibt E.
Die Koordinaten des Cache lauten jetzt:
N 49° 57.yyy, E8° 58.xxx
xxx = A + B + C + 5 yyy = D + E - 865
Der Cache kann auf normalen Wegen erreicht werden. Auf keinen Fall
müssen Bahnschienen oder Privatgrund betreten werden.
Lösung 2:
Der Wald und Wiesenweg. Bei 49° 56.231 E 8° 57.623 findet Ihr einen
Gedenkstein. Die Anzahl der Buchstaben des Nachnamens ist M. Die
Jahreszahl N. Fahrt nun auf dem schnellstmöglichen Weg zurück nach
Babenhausen. Etwa 1.4km von der ersten Stelle entfernt ist eine
Fabrik. Die Anzahl der Dreiecke in ihrem Logo ist die Zahl L.
Letzte Station ist jetzt der Bahnhof. Die Nummer des Bahnsteigs mit
der höchten Zahl ist K. Achtung: nicht mehr alle Bahnsteige sind in
Benutzung.
Die Koordination des Cache lauten jetzt:
N 49° 57.yyy, E8° 58.xxx
xxx = N + L - 1926 yyy = M + K + 640
Nochmal der Hinweis: auf keinen Fall müssen Bahnschienen oder
Privatgrund betreten werden.
