Bullock Lodge was built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps. and served as the original base lodge for the ski area at Wachusett Mountain. The old stone lodge is now a trailside stopover and warming hut for skiers and snowboarders in the winter months. It is heated only by wood stoves but is incredibly cozy and has a wonderful atomousphere that makes visitors feel like they are deep in the mountains of Vermont or New Hampshire.
The lodge has no plumming, hence Mr. Stinky. The outhouse was decommisioned more than a decade ago, but still serves as a storage shed. This cache was placed with permission from Wachusett Ski Area who leases the land from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. Please be careful of skiers if accessing the lodge during hours of operation.
