Geocache Description:

Located along Lizzy's Trail adjacent to the Ipswich River at Bradley Palmer State Park. Originally placed in 2005, this geocache replaces the one washed away by the river during a major storm event.

In 2004, the American Hiking Society named Lizzy’s Trail as one of the top ten most family-friendly trails across the country! One of the first wheelchair accessible trails in eastern Massachusetts, Lizzy’s Trail, is named for Lizzy Heerlein, a local resident who uses a wheelchair. The trail, located in Bradley Palmer State Park, runs from the park entrance at the Lamson House (take the first left after you enter the park), parallel to the Ipswich River, and ends at the wooden bridge over the Ipswich River opposite the entrance to Willowdale State Park.

Who would have thought that one of the 12-year-old “Generals” who placed the original geocache would have his wedding pictures taken on the same trail 20 years later!
